Anand Utsav was an event hosted by school, managed and organised by students for the support staff of the school. We planed this event on Saturday to avoid any chaos because Saturday is an off day for all the students so that all the support staff of the school can enjoy and have fun for few hours.

LO1 – Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth

I’m creative when it comes to decor part, can work enthusiastically without complaining but I face difficulties while managing more than one task at a time. I was a part of decor team for Anand Utsav but I also participated in volunteering for games where I was asked to explain and play games with support staff. Managing more than one task was a bit tricky for me because working on the decor till the last minute and also attending and meeting teacher at the other venues multiple time before the event made me realised that I need to develop upon my management skills. This event gave me a chance to work on it and showcase it effectively in my hard work and efforts.

LO4 – Show perseverance and commitment in CAS experience.

In this event, I’ve shown a consistent commitment towards my work and this entire event by putting my efforts while helping the decor team by giving ideas and collecting resources. Also, I completed my volunteering tasks with full dedication and enthusiasm. Meeting the teacher incharge on the event daym assembling the decor on the venues before time showed my commitment and contribution towards this event because all this was done within the time given to us and the deadline for completing our task was met.

LO5 – Demonstrate skills and benefits of working collaboratively.

During this event, I demonstrated my communication skills because most of our support staff preferred Gujarati language to make a smoother communication, so by being fluent in speaking gujarati language all time made my communication better. While doing the decor for the event, social skills were demonstrated because it allowed me to showcase my creativity and express my ideas to my team members for this event. Collaborative work taught me to work effectively in less time which can count as benefit because it reduced the workload and dividing task also helped in working effectively in creating decoration as well as in volunteering.
