on 24 Nov , I took part in a meaningful community service initiative to clean the public walkway in Nanpura, Surat. This walkway is a heavily used area, and over time, it had accumulated litter and debris that not only made it unsightly but also posed health and environmental concerns for the local community. The project involved removing plastic waste, sweeping the pavement, collecting fallen leaves, and properly segregating the trash into recyclable and non-recyclable categories.
The task started with a walkthrough of the area, where we assessed the extent of the littering problem and planned how to tackle it effectively. Working alongside a small group of volunteers, I brought gloves, garbage bags, brooms, dustpans, and biodegradable bags for the collection process. After dividing the area into sections, we began by sweeping the walkway and collecting garbage like wrappers, plastic bottles, and food waste.
