Our group participated in a range of visual art-related events as part of the HDP opt-out with the goal of fostering the expansion of our artistic knowledge and abilities. Following our learning in many art forms, we applied and transferred our skills. The purpose of this CAS Activity was to explore a different extracurricular activity, in the form of visual arts. Visual arts is something new for me, therefore I wanted to try it out. Arts, especially visual arts, does not fascinate me, hence I wanted to develop an inclination towards it.
LO2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills
I found it difficult to learn a new art form because my main extracurricular activity was sports. It wasn’t a particularly happy start to the trip because I had trouble grasping the foundational principles of some visual art genres. I found it difficult to produce my own artistic work, and my attempts were flawed. However, after practicing consistently, I eventually acquired a natural ability, and regularly produced works of high quality. I was provided with feedback from the teacher, which eventually helped me produce good quality work.

Our main goal was to establish a nurturing atmosphere where everyone felt appreciated and inspired. We also talked about how important it is to develop a daily habit of engaging in arts and comprehend how our actions affect our long-term, not just short-term, well-being.
