The Global Odyssey is an annual event held at Fountainhead, organized by Grade 11 Business Management and Economics students. During this event, students are grouped into six main categories: Fun, Food, Fashion, Decor, Accounts, and Event Coordination. The event fosters a sense of responsibility and active participation, while also offering students an opportunity to showcase their talents and passions. Additionally, it encourages teamwork and collaboration, contributing to the overall success of the event.
LO2 – Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken. This was my first time being part of the marketing team, as I usually choose other roles for different events. However, I decided to take on the challenge of joining the marketing team this time. While I’ve always been creative, this was the first opportunity I had to apply my creativity to an event like this. While working on marketing strategies and creating the Global Odyssey poster, I had to learn new skills with the help of my team. This experience taught me how to develop various offline strategies while collaborating closely with them.
LO5- Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively. The marketing team for this event was made up of several students, and we had to work closely together to ensure that all the decorations were properly prepared. Since our BM slots were divided into two batches, only one batch could focus on the marketing strategies at a time, making effective communication crucial to finalizing the ideas and concepts. Collaboration was key not only in developing the strategies but also in executing them before the event began. To ensure everything ran smoothly and the marketing posters were ready, we split the tasks and assigned each person a specific area of the venue to put up the posters. This process highlighted the importance of teamwork and everyone’s contribution to the success of the event.
