I found myself longing for a chance to significantly impact the lives of the impoverished as I set out on a trip driven by the values of selflessness taught by our elders. Even though I hadn’t done much philanthropic work before, the idea of donating to CAS excited me. Participating in a food donation program developed into a comprehensive undertaking that aims to foster a sense of community, education, and skill development among underprivileged youngsters, going beyond simple charitable giving. Throughout six weekends, our commitment went beyond simply distributing meals as we participated in engaging seminars that combined academics with entertaining games like Kho-Kho and Pictionary. This CAS experience demonstrated the value of initiative, forethought, and tenacity as we overcame obstacles and aimed to solve the global disparities in access to food and education. To empower the kids for a better future, we carefully designed programs that were suited to their requirements by partnering with neighborhood community centers. These programs combined meal delivery with educational activities.


LO4- Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences
We went to Hope School six times in a row to collect food contributions, spending a few hours each time interacting with the youngsters and the school’s volunteers. Our activities, which included engaging games and informative sessions, were designed to spark the kids’ interest in learning. We used innovative techniques like drawing sessions, fun games, and friendly tournaments to make the learning process fun and interesting after realizing their initial lack of enthusiasm. In addition, we provided them with filling lunches at the end of each session, meeting their immediate needs and promoting a sense of solidarity and community.
LO 7: Recognize and consider the ethics of choice and actions:
Throughout our experience, this learning objective has been crucial, especially in light of our contacts with young, uneducated youngsters. The preservation of a positive atmosphere depended on following specific rules, such as showing the kids respect and following their wishes. By following these guidelines, we reduced the possibility of any unfavorable events and guaranteed a peaceful environment with fruitful conversations.
LO 6 – Engagement with issues of global significance
We saw the significance of aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the UN in response to urgent global issues like Zero Hunger and Quality Education for All. In light of this, we started a community-wide movement, concentrating on Hope School. Here, we had two goals: to help impoverished kids who are struggling academically and nutritionally because their families are struggling financially. We used a comprehensive approach because we recognized the connection between nutrition and education in a child’s overall health. Through our participation at Hope School, we helped to create a more sustainable and just world in addition to helping to achieve the UN SDGs. Our acts demonstrate our conviction that taking small, coordinated steps together can result in substantial positive outcomes. By actively engaging, we endeavor to address global challenges and make a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need.
