Creative Mela

Creative mela is a place where we experience different, engaging, and fun workshops of creativity. This year I and my team kept a stall in the creative mela which was a POP (Plaster of Paris) art shop. On our stall, students of different grade came and made their POP art which consisted a cloth which they had to dip in the POP mixture which they could later paint after it was dried. Students loved our stall because this was a very fun and different experience which many of them had not done before.

LO1 – Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth

One of my major strengths is visual arts which is also the field I want to build my career in because of which I found this creative mela a perfect opportunity to express my creativity and inspire other students to explore it. To make my stall unique, I and my team decided to keep a POP(Plaster of Paris) art stall where students had to dip a cloth in the POP mixture and then paint it. This activity was found to be very fun for the students and they enjoyed doing it on our stall.

LO2 – Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills

During this experience we also found out a major challenge which was our crowd management skills because we had to manage huge crowd of students from different grades. Some students were playing with the resources, and some were not listening to the instructions this made it very difficult for us to make them listen to us so that everything could go as planned and they could have fun doing the activity. Managing huge crowd made me frustrated and panic because it was very difficult for me to manage them but eventually with some patience I was able to manage the crowd which made me develop a skill which will also be very useful for me in the future.

LO5 – Demonstrate skills and benefits of working collaboratively

Collaboration was something that we did not face issue in because my team consisted of people who I know were well and had a good bonding with this made our communication and teamwork better. Collaboration was very important and helpful for us because we distributed our works, one person brought the POP, one brought the cloths, on brought the paint. Not only during preparation but also during the execution, collaboration helped us a lot because we had to manage huge crowd of students which was very difficult to do alone so I and my team collaboratively managed the crowd on our stall to make this creative mela and out stall successful.Â
