Building My Architecture Foundations: A CAS Journey in Online Learning

My dreams of being an architect made me realize that proficiency in technical drawings and design principles is something I must have. That was the basis on which I started on this CAS activity where it tested me not only academically but also time management wise. What I chose to do was engage in an online course that had been created specifically for my kind of people, aspiring architects.
The Strengths and Weaknesses Unveiling:
This course did not only teach us new skills but became a self-discovery mission to ourselves. In practical projects as well as interesting lectures, I discovered a strength about myself that I did not recognize – my commitment. More often than not, when I walked into the world of architectural designs, sometimes even studying overnight out of my love for passion, time would fly by so quickly.

However, it also showed a weakness: bad time management. Being able to balance the course with school work as well as tuitions and exams proved difficult. At times having all these other commitments meant postponing some classes thereby leading to little setback in the way things were moving forward for me. Moreover, this challenge had become more pronounced given other factors such as SAs among others.

LO 1: Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth

Turning Knowledge into Practice:
This event made me understand self-awarness better and its significance. Acknowledging my fortes such as being committed has enabled me to maximize on them in the areas I am weak. It became a struggle with time. Planning sessions well, making good use of free hours and having someone else to lean on while busy helped me keep pace with the workload.

LO 2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process

Conquering Challenges:

Managing this online course alongside other commitments was not easy but it had its rewards. This allowed me to regain confidence in handling such situations again when they arise. Now, whenever my parents worry about workloads they think are too much, I feel more confident because of what happened newly.
