Donate food

My experience, although starting out as just donating food and serving it to underprevilaged children, turned into a much more rewarding and challenging journey. My experience of volunteering with Hope School, an organisation that works to help underprivileged children succeed in their studies, has totally changed me. Indeed working with children from deprived backgrounds has opened my eyes to issues that relate to global educational disparity and the economic factors affecting access to education.

In Hope School, I observed firsthand the differences in educational opportunities present within our community. Most of the kids I was helping did not have basic learning materials such as books or stationeries. On top of this some had other challenges like speaking different languages or some had learning disabilities which impede them even further.

Joining Hope School acquainted me with these broader systemic aspects of education disparity including poor financing for public schools, poverty and discrimination in society. These findings made me reflect on ethical dilemmas arising from addressing such complex problems as well as advocating for equitable policies that guarantee every child’s admission to school irrespective of their socio-economic status

At Hope School, I took on the responsibility of setting up a supportive and inclusive educational environment for all children in which every child was considered important and allowed to make good use of his or her potential.

Hope School helped me identify my strengths as both a mentor and teacher, and areas in need of improvement such as patience, empathy and awareness for cultural differences. I got used to each kid’s unique needs, backgrounds by building relationships based on trust that are essential for meaningful learning experiences.

To sum it all up, this interaction with Hope school has made me better understand global education issues linked with social justice and also revealed a moral obligation towards achieving fairness as well as inclusivity. Through education which empowers underprivileged children, we can end the cycle of poverty hence creating opportunities for brighter future generation-wise.
