Global Odyssey​ іs​​ a program that empowers students​​ tо create entrepreneurial aptitudes and gain​​ a more profound understanding​​ оf worldwide issues. Amid our participation,​​ we decided​​ tо organize​​ a football-themed stall​ tо raise funds for charity. Global odyssey was an integration of BM and ECO for a fair to earn profits and also make a connection between an existing brand and also show why our brand is better.
LO 1 – Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth
Setting up the charity stall for the Global Odyssey project was an eye-opening experience. While I discovered a knack for solving problems on the fly, it also highlighted areas for improvement, like time management. This self-reflection on my strengths and weaknesses during the project has fueled a desire for personal growth, and I’m excited to see how I can develop these skills.
LO 2 – Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills
Organizing the charity stall for Global Odyssey was a growth experience. My problem-solving skills came in handy throughout the process. However, it also revealed areas for improvement, like time management. This self-reflection on my strengths and weaknesses has fueled a desire to develop myself further. I’m excited to see how I can hone these skills in future projects.
LO 3 – Initiate and plan a CAS experience
Our Worldwide Journey venture required​ us​​ tо take activity and ownership.​​ We identified​​ a cause​ we cared approximately, brainstormed thoughts, and developed​​ a concrete plan​​ tо execute our raising money occasion. This encounter helped​​ me develop​​ my arranging and organizational skills,​​ as well​ as​​ my ability​​ tо take activity and lead others.
LO 4 – Show perseverance and commitment in CAS experience
There were unexpected mishaps all through the venture, such​​ as stall being far away from were customers really are. However,​​ we persevered​​ by going out of the way to attain customers. This involvement illustrated the importance​​ оf commitment, strength, and the ability​ tо adapt​​ tо changing circumstances.
Our charity stall wasn’t without its challenges. For instance, the stall’s location turned out to be less than ideal for attracting customers. However, this setback didn’t deter us. We persevered by thinking outside the box and actively engaging with potential customers, showcasing our commitment to the project’s success. This experience illustrated the importance of perseverance, resilience, and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances. These are essential skills in any endeavor, as unexpected obstacles are often inevitable. By demonstrating perseverance in the face of challenges, I learned the valuable lesson of staying focused and finding creative solutions to achieve desired outcomes.
LO 5 – Demonstrate skills and benefits of working collaboratively
Throughout this project, I learned a lot about the importance of collaboration. We worked together to organize different activites for the Nightout like food arrangment, band performance, class games etc. And prepared a spreadsheet for organiing our work. I also learned to appreciate the unique skills and perspectives that everyone brought to the table.
In conclusion, participating in the Global Odyssey project proved to be a valuable learning experience. It not only allowed me to contribute to a worthy cause, but also helped me develop a deeper understanding of my strengths, such as problem-solving, and areas for improvement, like time management. Most importantly, the learner profile risk-takers helped me by going out of my comfort zone and inviting customers to my stall even though we had to manage the coming customers. This experience highlighted the importance of collaboration, perseverance, and adaptability – skills I know will benefit me in future endeavors. The Global Odyssey program served as a springboard for personal growth, and I’m eager to see how I can continue developing these skills as I embark on new challenges.
