Anand Utsav is an event that celebrates the school support staff. We students had prepared skits, dances and games for them to enjoy and my role in the team was as the host. Along with the project organizer, I worked towards preparing a flow for the event followed by a script. The support staff was divided into two batches and the event run parallely at two different venues. At one venue there were games and at the other skits and dances. On the day of the event, I also helped the decor team set up the venue and make other necessary arrangements. 

LO3 – Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience 

While I was not directly involved in the planning of the entire event, I did especially work on the script and the flow for the same. I started with jotting down some points that I could include in the script, post which I finetuned those points by organising them in a logical flow. Later, I discussed this with my fellow host and then we made further edits to the script. During the rehearsals, I made it a point to be present there and perform my hosting even though I had to skip a subject slot for the rehearsals.This helped me understand the stage etiquette better and understand how the event will look like. It is important to plan well, as if I wouldn’t have done that it is highly likely that I would have fumbled on stage and wouldn’t have been able to deliver the content confidently. Doing the planning, creating the script and participating in rehearsals ensured I was able to speak well during the event. 

LO 5 – Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively 

This event wouldn’t have been possible without working collaboratively, all of us could focus on our strengths and accordingly select tasks. While sometimes we did have difficulties working together due to differences in opinions, what got all of us back together was goal to create a memorable event for the support staff. During rehearsal hosting, I feedback I received from others in the team helped me improve my performance and work on my weaknesses. 

LO 7 – Recognise and consider the ethics of choices and actions

The primary purpose behind hosting this event was to recognise and appreciate the efforts of our support staff, I was extremely happy and proud when I observed the support staff enjoying the event, laughing through the performances and participating in the games. I could see them feeling happy about how their efforts are recognised and that I am grateful for having had the opportunity to give back to the school community.
