I have always been an adventurous person and always liked to do things which are very exciting. Even though I know these adventurous activities are scary and terrifying I just feel like taking a risk and experiencing something new. When I got to know that School has an option of rock climbing as a CAS experience I was sure that I have to take this as my experience. I had never experienced rock climbing before and thought it would be easy to do, however when the rock climbing sessions started, I realized that it is harder than it even looks like.
LO 1:Identify own strength and develop area for growth:
Adventurous activities have always been a task for me. It is worth experiencing something new and identifying one’s strengths and weaknesses. The strength that I found in myself during these sessions were that with practice and hard work I can accomplish the things that I first find difficult. At first I was not able to climb more and go higher but with practice and regular sessions I was able to use my power and climb more than I could.
LO 2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills:
The challenge that I faced during these sessions was my power. It was very difficult to climb so high with low power and strength. In the beginning of the sessions I was not able to do much of the climbing but as I got to know the techniques and skills I was able to achieve some strength and climb more. The new skill that I developed during these sessions was while climbing up we should not wait much on each step and climb faster, and for doing this we have to jump and put our wait on our hands and then climb.
LO 4: Show perseverance and commitment in CAS experience:
We had 4 sessions of rock climbing which were conducted in our early in’s.I showed perseverance and commitment in this experience by coming to the sessions everyday and attending it without any hesitation and taking out some time for these sessions.
