As part of our CAS experience which focuses on the activity strand, our community cleanup program was held outside the school premises at public places. In order to complete this experience we were expected to do at least 4 sessions of community cleanup under supervision. 

L1: Identifying Strengths and Areas for Growth

Participating in the community cleanup allowed each of us to identify our individual strengths and areas for growth. We recognized the need to improve physical stamina when faced with challenging tasks. By reflecting on our performance during the cleanup, we were able to gain valuable insights into our capabilities and areas where we could further develop and excel. During these cleanup drives we went to 4 different public places to experience the differences, at first we went for beach cleaning, then for a pond, then other 2 places were the banks of river Tapi. Cleanup drives were not only for cleaning public places but it also strengthened the physical ability which also helps in improving our physical fitness. 

L4: Perseverance and Commitment in CAS Experience

Throughout the local area cleanup project, perseverance and commitment were essential components that guided the way we worked. Despite facing setbacks such as poor weather or heavy trash collection, we remained devoted to the cause and persevered. We made a significant contribution to the cleanup while also developing a sense of commitment to our community. These sessions were held in early inns which takes a commitment from us indirectly because it’s a task to get up in winter and go for a cleanup drive in our busy schedule to complete this experience. 

L5: Skills and Benefits of Collaborative Work

Working collaboratively during the cleanup showcased the benefits of teamwork and cooperation. In pairs, we stacked up the garbage in bags so that it can be easy for us to collect the garbage. Working in pairs was efficient as it makes us work faster than working individually. Also working together helps in looking into every corner so that nothing is left behind. 

L6: Engagement with Global Issues of Significance

Our community cleanup campaign was more than just a local effort; it was an expression of our dedication to global issues of environmental sustainability and community responsibility. By taking action to improve the cleanliness of public spaces, we contributed to a larger discussion about the impact of human activities on the world. The cleaning served as a reminder of our interconnectedness with the global community

Overall, our local area cleanup experience with the CAS programme has demonstrated the incredible power of collective action and social responsibility. By identifying our advantages, showing determination, working together, and engaging with global challenges, we have improved our own advancement while also having a big impact on our whole environment.
