Global Odyssey, one of the largest events in FS, began and finished with excitement. This program empowers students​​ tо create entrepreneurial aptitudes and gain​​ a more profound understanding​​ оf the real world issues. I had put up a gaming stall where we kept gaming laptops on hire for the customers to play famous games like Valorant and GTA V.
LO 1 – Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth
I was pretty enthusiastic about the event and the game stall as it was one of the things I have very fun doing. I identified that though the gaming stall needed very less of an investment, it was hard to keep a track of the customers and there was no viable gift/prize we could give to the people who won the game. Which was one of our biggest weakness, which we were able to cope up with by having a deal with one of the food stall.
LO2- Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills
Operating the food stall was a transformative experience, fostering my personal growth amidst challenges. My problem-solving skills proved invaluable throughout. However, it also underscored areas for improvement, notably time management. Reflecting on these strengths and weaknesses ignites my determination for personal development. I eagerly anticipate applying these skills in future, more sophisticated events.
LO 5 – Demonstrate skills and benefits of working collaboratively
“During this project, I gained valuable insights into the significance of collaboration. Together, we orchestrated the preparation and sale of our food items to customers, assigning roles efficiently to expedite dish preparation. Collaboratively, we crafted posters for our stall and organized our tasks using a spreadsheet, streamlining our planning process and facilitating achievement of our revenue target.
In summary, participating in the Global Odyssey initiative proved to be a valuable educational experience. It allowed me to contribute to a meaningful cause while gaining insights into my strengths, such as problem-solving, and areas for growth, like time management. Notably, despite the challenges of managing incoming clients, collaborating with learner profile thinkers pushed me beyond my comfort zone, fostering innovative solutions. Our creative thinking led to the development of unique menu items that resonated with a diverse audience. Through this experience, I learned the importance of teamwork, tenacity, and flexibility—skills I will carry forward into future endeavors. The Global Odyssey program accelerated my personal development, and I look forward to further refining these abilities as I tackle new challenges.
