Anand Utsav

The unsung heroes of our operations are the school personnel. They put forth a lot of effort, working long hours before the first bell sounds and late into the evening after school lets out, all while maintaining the cheeriest of attitudes and grins. Whether it’s the grade wing didis, the culinary crew, or the transport staff. They now play essential roles in my life. Anand Utsav was a special occasion where we thanked them for their dedication and celebrated their hard work with a day full of fun activities. I took on the job of creating and executing a dance and drama for the occasion.

LO1: Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth
There were lots of opportunity for personal development among the many activities. Overseeing a range of responsibilities during the day, such as setting up game stations and helping employees, gave me the opportunity to capitalize on my advantages and pinpoint opportunities for improvement. I improved my capacity to communicate and adjust to new situations with every engagement.

LO2:Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills
It was tough for me to write a script in Gujarati, which is a difficult undertaking, but I also realized that my public speaking skills are my strength despite the difficulty of my duty as host. Along with creating the script, I also improved my Gujarati speaking skills by becoming more comfortable and fluent in the language.

LO5: Demonstrate skills and benefits of working collaboratively.

Working together proved to be essential to the event’s success. Together with my colleagues, we expertly coordinated our efforts to make the support staff’s experience unforgettable. Our combined efforts, whether it was coming up with concepts for brand-new games or resolving practical difficulties, emphasized the need of respect and cooperation. Furthermore, my hosting partner and I worked together to write the Gujarati script for the event.

LO6: Engagement with issues of global significance.
Worldwide concern is developing over the issue of subpar facilities and underdevelopment among low-income support staff members. To tackle this problem, the Anand Utsav function offered opportunity for enjoyment through stimulating activities for support workers. This progress was made possible in large part by the G11 and 12 volunteers, who put in a great deal of effort to establish a friendly, inclusive, and educational environment. Additionally, the support workers enjoyed themselves and made lifelong memories through these activities.

LO7 : Recognise and consider the ethics of choices and actions
At its core, the Anand Utsav was a testament to the ethical principles that guide our actions. By recognising the contributions of the support staff, we reaffirmed our commitment to fostering a culture of appreciation and inclusivity within the school community. Seeing the smiles on the faces of the staff members as they engaged in the festivities served as a reminder of the impact of our choices and actions. We respected them and their perspectives with equal respect and carefully listened to their ideas.

Overall, this experience has taught me the learner profile of being “Caring”. Being Caring towards everyone that help us students have a smooth, convenient and comfortable school day every single day. Caring towards the Didi’s and Bhaiyas who have taken care of us all this while. Caring towards the unsung heroes in every academic institution.
