Global Odyssey

The planning of an amazing event named Global Odyssey by our school’s Business Management and Economics IB DP students was quite much of fun! This event highlighted the diverse talents and skills of the student body while encouraging community and participation. With the goal of making this event enjoyable for all attendees—along with my buddies—I decided to set up a stand under the “Fun” category.

Following much thought, we developed the interesting games Buzz Wire and Ball Toss. These carefully designed activities were made to let kids in grades 7 through 12 participate and have a fantastic time. Through meticulous planning and coordination of the stall’s construction and game preparation, we proved our capacity for teamwork to reach a shared objective.

learning outcome 1: List personal strengths and work on areas of development. As we were creating and putting our booth into use, I started to see how creatively and practically adept I am. I knew also the areas I still had to improve on, including time management and communication. This meeting motivated me even more to concentrate on improving these abilities.

Learning Outcome 5: Show advantages and skills of cooperative cooperation. Our CAS experience revolved mostly in teamwork. Closely working together, my friends and I were able to conquer challenges and make use of one another’s abilities. This experience underlined the need of teamwork and the great benefits that follow from collaborative effort.

Learning Outcome 7: Acknowledge and reflect on the ethics of decisions and behavior. We discussed the planning stage to ensure that everyone could enjoy, engage fairly, and have fun in our activities. Giving ethical considerations like justice, respect, and diversity top importance helped us to ensure that our booth honored the values of honesty and equity.

I not only fulfilled these learning goals but also improved the attribute of the thinking learner. Creating games suitable for every age of pupils demands both strategic planning and meticulous thought. By closely considering the interests and preferences of our target audience, I was able to demonstrate my critical thinking abilities and flexibility to a range of circumstances.

All things considered, Global Odyssey was a fulfilling and enlightening CAS event. Apart from providing me with opportunity to apply what I acquired in the classroom, it also presented priceless prospects for personal growth. From guiding kids to see their strengths and limitations to showing resiliency and teamwork, this event brilliantly caught the essence of CAS and its transforming power on them.
