Learning Outcome 3 – Initiate and plan a CAS experience:

This was an experience where we sold food in the staff garba fest which was help in our school itself. We three people came together and put up a stall where we sold different food items like, maggi, brownie, nachos and much more. The difficult part was to initiate more than plan because there were many people coming asking for discounts and forcing us to sell them for free. The skill which I learned while selling my products was to how I can market my goods by showing giving discounts or giving buy one get one free, but still earn a good profit. This was a trick I learned myself while initiating the plan and then even used it quite well for selling my products which even helped us earn a good amount of profit. Plan and initiating a food stall like this will for sure be easier now, as I have experienced it now and even know the possible challenges that can occur and am ready to face that. It is really important to know how to plan and initiate such activities because it helps you experience real life situations and even help you learn and understand how to face real life problems and challenges you. These activities also help you understand your own capabilities to deal with such situations.

Learning Outcome 6 – Demonstrate engagement with issues of global significance:

Through my CAS activity, I addressed the issue of poverty and hunger by setting up a food stall at my school’s staff Garba fest, where we sold food and donated the profits to underprivileged people. Hunger and poverty are global concerns affecting millions, leading to malnutrition and poor living conditions. This issue is significant worldwide as it impacts health, education, and overall development, particularly in underdeveloped regions. Learning about such issues has made me more empathetic and aware of the inequalities in society. Knowing that my small effort contributed to helping those in need gave me a sense of fulfillment and responsibility. This experience has strengthened my belief in the power of community-driven initiatives and encouraged me to continue supporting similar causes in the future.

Learning Outcome 7 – Recognize and consider the ethics of choices and actions:

Through my CAS activity of running a food stall at my school’s staff Garba fest and donating the profits to underprivileged people, I recognized the ethical responsibility of using resources for a meaningful cause. The ethical issue involved was ensuring fairness in pricing, hygiene in food preparation, and the responsible use of funds. While I was not directly affected by poverty, witnessing its impact made me more conscious of social inequalities. This experience reinforced my belief that small actions can create positive change. Before this activity, I understood poverty as a widespread issue, but actively contributing to a solution deepened my awareness and sense of responsibility. Now, I feel more committed to making ethical choices that benefit others and promote fairness in society.
