Community Service was a great intiative done by the school on august 2023 where many childrens were brought from government school and we, all the grade 11 fountainhead students teached them things like dance, science projects, ICT, arts and sports like basketball, frisbee, football, etc.

We all had to select that what we would like to teach the kids from government school and I personally chose science project because the subject really facinates me and I am really interested in science because I like to understand the world around us and plus it is really fun to construct science projects and learn science concepts with the help of those models or projects.

LO 4 – Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experience 

The community service took place for 6 days or 3 weekends when we had day off at the school. During the weekend I tend to wake up late in the morning to get some rest but because we had community service in the weekend and little early in the morning, I felt sometimes lathargic to show to school in the morning. However, I still went to every day of the community service what motivated me to show up was the smile on the faces of those kids while learning and the benefit they get from the learnings we give them.

LO 5 – Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively 

There were so many kids from the government school that were interested in the science projects catagory so there was so much hassle and it was difficult to manage at first but them we, the fountainhead science project students, decided a strategy of dividing the task among everyone and also dividing students into groups with each group having a leader from our team and this strategy of working collaboratively help to ensure smooth working and flow in the learning.

LO 7 – Recognize and consider the ethics of choices and actions 

While teaching these kids I realized how grateful I am to get some high quality education and many basic things that I used to take for granted in my daily life and not usually care about it as many of these kids very underprivilaged and so while teaching them the happiness in their eyes was clearly visible and I made some really good connections with them.
