LO 1: Identify your own strengths and develop areas for personal growth.
Throughout my CAS experience, I have come to realize my strengths in graphic design and photography, which I have leveraged to create engaging visual content for our school yearbook. However, I also identified areas for personal growth, particularly in my time management and organizational skills. Balancing multiple responsibilities while ensuring quality in our yearbook project has pushed me to develop better planning strategies, which will be beneficial in all aspects of my academic and personal life.

LO 2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process.
One of the significant challenges I faced during this project was coordinating with different teams to gather content and ensure that everyone’s contributions were included. This experience forced me to step out of my comfort zone and develop new communication and negotiation skills. By actively listening to my peers and addressing their concerns, I learned how to resolve conflicts and promote a collaborative environment, which ultimately enhanced the quality of our yearbook.

LO 3: Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience.
Initiating the yearbook project required careful planning and organization. I started by assembling a team of enthusiastic students and setting clear goals for what we wanted to achieve. We created a timeline that included deadlines for content submissions, design layouts, and final revisions. By breaking down the project into manageable tasks, we ensured that everyone understood their roles and responsibilities, making the process smoother and more efficient.

LO 4: Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences.
Commitment and perseverance were essential throughout our yearbook project. There were times when we faced setbacks, such as missed deadlines or creative differences. However, I remained dedicated to the vision we had for the yearbook and worked tirelessly to motivate my team. By maintaining open lines of communication and encouraging each other, we were able to overcome challenges and stay focused on our goal, resulting in a yearbook that we were all proud of.

LO 5: Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively.
Working collaboratively on the yearbook taught me the importance of teamwork and the skills necessary to function effectively as part of a group. I learned how to delegate tasks, share ideas, and provide constructive feedback, which fostered a positive working atmosphere. This experience also highlighted the benefits of diverse perspectives, as each team member brought unique ideas and talents to the table. Ultimately, our collaboration not only improved the quality of our yearbook but also strengthened our relationships as classmates and friends
