Staff Garba fest was a student led event organised by the grade 12 students which was held in school after school hours. . We were invited to host food/drinks to our junior batches on their event day. I teamed up with a friend and chose to serve ice tea, nachos, maggie to the teachers.
Learning outcome 2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills.
Before this event I never kept a food stall for an event initiated by school. I was usually a part of dance, social media or something more interesting. This was my first time serving drinks to someone specially people younger than me. I was thrilled to learn about managing money and trying to earn maximum profit for myself. Experiencing all these aspects of selling something to someone was a very good experience fill with alot of learning which I can now demonstrate further in life.
Learning outcome 3: Initiate and plan a CAS experience
Garba fest was one of the first events of grade 11 and CAS was newly introduced so the excitement really lifted up our energy and our idea to be a part of the event. It was an addition event that I was asked for to serve in and so I took part in order to complete my CAS programme with good experience and within time limit.
Learning outcome 6: Engagement with issues of global significance.
The Fundraiser was taken care of during this event, we thought donating our profts would really help to overcome the lack of education in the city. Though we donated a small amount of money but it is a little step that can help the children in some or the other way to imporve their lifestyle.
My personal reason to take up this event was to donate the earnings to underprivelleged children. We donated aroung 600 rupees to the shelter which was a really good acheviement for us to make.
To sum up, it was a really good event and the donation drive really gave me a new experience.
