Anand Utsav

Anand Utsav is an annual event organized by the school to show appreciation for the dedication and hard work of the support staff. The event is filled with various activities, games, and performances to ensure a joyful celebration for the staff members. I was part of the activities team, responsible for ensuring that the support staff had an enjoyable day. The staff was divided into two groups, and the event was conducted simultaneously at two different venues. One venue hosted games, while the other featured skits and dance performances.

LO5: Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively
With a tight schedule for setting up decorations, especially as other activities were happening simultaneously, we had to rely heavily on teamwork. Working together allowed us to efficiently divide tasks and responsibilities among ourselves, which enabled us to meet deadlines and manage the event’s flow. Collaboration made it possible to get things done faster and more effectively. We distributed the workload among team leaders, each of whom then coordinated with volunteers to ensure every task was completed. While we faced some disagreements along the way, the ability to work as a cohesive team was crucial in completing everything on time.

LO7: Recognize and consider the ethics of choices and actions
Anand Utsav is an event dedicated to our school’s support staff, so it was essential for us to treat all the didis and bhaiyas with respect and patience throughout the day. We were mindful to conduct ourselves with integrity, ensuring that all activities were appropriate and aligned with the values of the event. Our focus was on creating a respectful and positive environment, listening to their thoughts, and engaging with them warmly. Seeing the joy and smiles on their faces as they participated in the festivities reminded us of the impact of our actions and choices.

At the end of the event, witnessing the support staff enjoy themselves made all our hard work feel worthwhile. We concluded the celebration with a memorable garba session with all the didis and bhaiyas, which brought a sense of unity and joy to the day. This experience taught me that even small actions can bring great happiness to others, and it’s a lesson that will stay with me for a long time.
