For this semester’s HDP (Holistic Development Program) I chose Personal Finance & Investments. Honestly, who doesn’t like money, right? It was a subject I’d always been curious about, and it made me feel more financially independent. Back What really caught my attention was learning about different ways to invest. We got into studying what causes their prices to go up or down, and understanding the risks and rewards that come with them. We also explored mutual funds and bonds, which gave us a better understanding of diversified investment strategies.
But this program wasn’t just about theory. We got to take part in a simulated stock market game called money bhai, which was super exciting. With a virtual budget, we paper-traded, researching companies, analyzing trends, and making our investment decisions. Watching our portfolios grow was such a thrill and really helped us understand how unpredictable and dynamic the market can be.
Beyond the classroom, the impact of the HDP AS program has been huge. I now feel much more confident managing my personal finances, budgeting realistically, and understanding how small financial decisions can have big implications. Sharing what I’ve learned with friends and family has led to some great conversations about budgeting and saving for the future. And, let’s just say, the program has made me financially independent.
