This past month, I had the opportunity to volunteer at prayas, a local animal shelter, as part of our CAS experience. The sound of barking dogs, clucking chickens, and chirping birds filled the air. Our mission was simple: take care of these animals as best as we could.
LO4 – Show perseverance and commitment in CAS experience
The highlight of the day wasn’t just the work—it was the time spent interacting with the animals. Playing with the dogs or just sitting by their cages, seeing the wagging tails and hearing the contented purrs made the effort feel worth it. These moments showed me how much animals offer in terms of companionship and love, and how important it is to be dedicated to their care. This experience directly connects with

SDG 15: Life on Land. By volunteering at Nature’s Club and caring for abandoned and surrendered animals, we contributed to the protection and well-being of animal life, supporting efforts to conserve biodiversity and ensure the survival of species that are vulnerable and neglected. Our actions helped create a safer, healthier environment for these animals, which aligns with the goal of protecting and restoring ecosystems and biodiversity. Through our efforts, we supported the broader mission of responsible stewardship of life on land, ensuring that animals are treated with care and respect.
Caring. By tending to the needs of abandoned and surrendered animals, I demonstrated empathy and a sense of responsibility toward their well-being.
