As part of the festive celebrations , we organized a Garba fest for the school teachers. The entire event was a great opportunity for the teachers to unwind with garba and celebrate the cultural. It was all about extending one’s knowledge in planning, coordination, and commitment to making the event a fun-filled experience for everyone involved. With this experience, I cared and persevered to ensure that the event not only brought joy to the staff but also had a memorable setting.
LO4: Demonstrate commitment and perseverance in CAS experiences
Handling the details at times seemed overpowering since the decorations were supposed to be done on the same day which kind of did make me feel stresed, especially balancing this commitment with the responsibilities given to academics since a whole day was given for the garba fest. However, as a team we were driven by our objective and made sure that each and every detail to be involved in the event was well thought out. On the fest day, problems surfaced on the day, like last-minute changes in the decor and technical malfunction of the sound system B]but all problems were promptly sorted out, and we worked in a way that the event fell on the teachers without being disrupted
Organizing the Garba fest was actually such a rewarding experience for me. It helped me practice perseverance and the IB Learner Profile attribute of Caring, wherein one has the willingness to consider the well-being of others before and beyond oneself. So, it’s a sure success, and I remember how much importance giving back to those who support us every day is.
