Kalakriti is an event hosted by our school where students from different schools showcase their artistic skills such as drama, dance and more. I was part of the management team, where I helped students and teachers with backstage management like getting the props ready, helping students with timing, setting up the props, managing the time and constantly checking in with the judges, and more.
LO2- Demonstrate the challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process
During the event, I was supposed to manage the time stamps and the participants. I was backstage and I had to help the participants reach the stage on time. As there were so many participants backstage, it was quite challenging to manage and gather all of them on time. Although, I developed communication skills in order to get them on stage on time and prepare them for their turns.
LO4- Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experience
Taking charge of coordinating participant arrivals, preparing certificates, and keeping the event on schedule really underscored my commitment to making it a success. Like any event, Kalakriti had its share of surprises—some delays, last-minute changes, and a few time-management challenges. Despite these, we managed to wrap up all the performances within the limited time. My persistence came through as I worked to solve problems on the spot, making sure everything ran smoothly.
LO5:Demonstrate that skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively
Working with others has always been a bit of a challenge for me, but this time it felt different. Collaboration actually made the event flow better, and coordinating tasks was much easier with everyone pitching in. I made a real effort to support both the teacher in charge and the other volunteers, ensuring that any issues were handled together as a team. The teacher’s approach was especially encouraging; instead of simply giving me tasks, she offered guidance along the way, which made everything feel collaborative and supportive.
