We organized a freshmen’s party for the next round of DPs. I assisted with the games and was a member of the dancing team at this event. I met the following learning objectives: 1, 2, 4, and 5.
Learning outcome 1: Identify own strengths and areas for growth
I was thrilled to be a member of the dance squad for the Freshers’ Party because I have always loved dancing. Although I was sure that I could make a creative contribution, I quickly saw that I could improve in areas like coordination and leadership. Being in charge of specific choreography elements forced me to hone my abilities in time management and group dynamics organization. I also realized that I needed to improve my capacity to remain composed under duress, particularly when giving a performance in front of a big crowd. I was able to identify my areas of strength and improvement thanks to this encounter.
Learning outcome 2: Demonstrate That Challenges Have Been Undertaken, Developing New SkillsÂ
There were difficulties involved in getting ready for the Freshers’ Party. We frequently had to start practice early because we had to fit rehearsals around everyone’s hectic schedules. Additionally, there were times when the choreography didn’t go as expected, which made the squad frustrated. But these difficulties turned into chances for development. I improved my time management practices and picked up new dancing techniques. Furthermore, I learned how to remain focused and have a positive mindset even in the face of adversity by managing the pressure of performing live.
Learning outcome 4: Show Commitment and Perseverance in CAS Experiences
Our team’s dedication and tenacity were demonstrated on the drive to the Freshers’ Party. We experienced moments of exhaustion, particularly during the final week of rehearsals before the event. Even though we were overburdened and occasionally faced obstacles like last-minute adjustments to the routine, we were committed to giving our best performance. The attitude of dedication extended beyond simply attending rehearsals; it also included helping one another along the way.
Learning outcome 5: Demonstrate skills and benefits of working collaboratively
Being a member of the Freshers’ Party dance squad was a real team-building exercise. Our ability to trust one another’s skills, share duties, and communicate clearly was essential to our success. To guarantee a flawless performance, we had to synchronize not only the dance techniques but also the lighting, music, and costumes. I gained an understanding of the importance of teamwork and how cooperation may result in a more imaginative and well-executed end product during this process.
Conclusion:
Being a member of the dance squad during the Freshers’ Party was a rewarding experience that extended beyond the actual performance. It was a chance to develop personally, gain knowledge from setbacks, and appreciate the value of cooperation.
