It was a fulfilling opportunity for me to serve as a referee for the interschool under-15 girls football tournament, allowing me to support the sport while maintaining safety and fair play on the field. In my capacity as a referee, my duties included monitoring the match regulations, rendering prompt decisions, and preserving a fair and encouraging atmosphere for the young athletes. Seeing the players’ abilities and camaraderie was thrilling, and I was honored to have contributed to their development as athletes.

Strong communication skills, concentration, and the capacity to run the game honorably were all necessary for the position. Notwithstanding the difficulties, particularly in controlling the vigor and feelings of young players, the experience improved my comprehension of football dynamics and reaffirmed the significance of sports justice. The players’ enthusiasm and commitment were admirable, and I intend to keep attending sporting events in the future.

Learning outcome 2 : Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process

I had to control the game’s flow, make snap choices under duress, and guarantee fair play in order to referee. These difficulties forced me to learn new abilities including making decisions, handling disagreement, and staying focused under pressure.

Even though I was the only referee, I had to work closely with coaches, players, and other officials to make sure the event went well. Maintaining the integrity of the game required effective communication and teamwork, and I came to understand how crucial cooperation is to reaching a shared objective.

I had an obligation as a referee to render just and moral decisions that affected the players and the game’s general integrity. In order to ensure justice and respect for all players, I had to continually think about the ethics behind every call I made. The importance of making moral decisions in all of my actions, both on and off the field, was emphasized by this event.
