Freshers

Being part of the dance team for the Freshers’ Party was an incredible experience that allowed me to showcase my creativity while learning valuable lessons along the way. The event was a celebration for the new batch of DP students, and my contribution as part of the team made it even more special.

LO1: Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth
I have always enjoyed dancing, and this event gave me a chance to express my passion for it. My creativity, energy, and ability to pick up choreography quickly were definite strengths I brought to the team. However, I realized there were areas where I needed to grow, such as consistency in executing moves and maintaining confidence when dancing in front of a live audience. Additionally, balancing my academic workload with frequent rehearsals required me to work on my time management skills. This experience not only highlighted my strengths but also made me more aware of the aspects I could improve.

LO2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills
Preparing for the Freshers’ Party came with its fair share of challenges. Rehearsing in sync with the team was difficult at first, as everyone had different learning paces. There were also moments when choreography had to be adjusted, which added to the pressure. However, these challenges helped me develop new skills. I learned how to adapt to last-minute changes in choreography, improve my coordination, and maintain patience while working with the team. The experience also helped me refine my performance under pressure, which is something I had previously struggled with.

LO4: Show perseverance and commitment in CAS experience
The process of preparing for the Freshers’ Party required significant dedication. The rehearsals were often long and tiring, especially as the event date approached. Despite moments of exhaustion and occasional setbacks, I remained committed to delivering the best performance possible. Whether it was perfecting a difficult move or attending additional practice sessions, I made sure to stay focused and give my full effort. This experience taught me the importance of perseverance in achieving a shared goal and how consistency can lead to success.

LO5: Demonstrate skills and benefits of working collaboratively
Being part of the dance team was a true example of collaborative effort. Each team member brought unique strengths, and we worked together to create a performance that was both creative and cohesive. Effective communication and mutual support were crucial to ensuring the choreography came together seamlessly. We also worked closely with the organizers to align the music, lighting, and stage setup with our performance. Through this process, I learned the value of teamwork and how collective efforts can enhance the overall outcome.

Conclusion:
Participating in the Freshers’ Party as part of the dance team was an enriching experience that allowed me to grow as an individual and a team player. It helped me recognize my strengths, work on areas for growth, overcome challenges, and value the importance of collaboration. This experience was not only a celebration of dance but also a meaningful opportunity for personal development and teamwork.
