Anand utsav

Anand Utsav was an extraordinary experience that allowed me to give back to the people who play such a vital role in our school life—the support staff. Unlike other CAS activities that focus on personal or community enrichment, this event was unique because it focused solely on appreciating the dedication and hard work of the support staff. I participated as part of the dance team and helped in organizing activities that created joy and unforgettable memories for the staff. The event taught me invaluable lessons in planning, perseverance, collaboration, and ethics, all while reinforcing the importance of inclusivity and gratitude.

LO1 – Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth Participating in the dance team for Anand Utsav helped me explore my strengths and discover areas for growth. Dancing has always been one of my passions, and I was excited to contribute through it. However, I realized that remembering long dance routines was a challenge for me, which often led to errors during practice. This became a focus area for my growth, and by dedicating time to repeated rehearsals, I significantly improved my memorization skills. The process also boosted my confidence in learning choreography and performing in front of an audience.

LO3 – Initiate and plan a CAS experience- In preparation for Anand Utsav, I took on the responsibility of contributing to the choreography for our group dance. Drawing inspiration from dances I had recently learned at a family function, I worked with my team to incorporate those steps into our routine, creating a unique and lively performance. This initiative not only added variety to our routine but also helped save time, as the steps were easy for everyone to learn. Planning and executing the dance taught me the importance of creative input and leadership in making an event successful.

LO4 – Show perseverance and commitment in CAS experiences Despite Term 2 being an academically demanding time, my team and I stayed committed to making Anand Utsav a memorable event. With limited pull-out sessions, we utilized every available moment, including coming to school early, to rehearse our dances. The time crunch was challenging, but our determination and dedication to the event kept us going. This experience reinforced my understanding of perseverance and how commitment can help overcome obstacles, ensuring success.

LO5 – Demonstrate skills and benefits of working collaboratively Collaboration was a cornerstone of our success during Anand Utsav. Group dances require seamless coordination and synchronization, which can only be achieved when everyone works together. During rehearsals, some members struggled with certain moves, and others stepped in to guide and support them. This environment of mutual encouragement and teamwork ensured that we were fully prepared for the final performance. The experience highlighted how working collaboratively can enhance both individual and collective outcomes, fostering a sense of unity within the group.

LO6 – Engagement with issues of global significance Anand Utsav helped address a globally relevant issue—recognizing and appreciating those who often go unnoticed for their contributions. In many places, support staff and individuals from underprivileged backgrounds face neglect and lack of acknowledgment. Through this event, we aimed to bridge this gap by celebrating the hard work of our school’s support staff and making them feel valued. Events like these not only provide joy but also promote a culture of respect and inclusivity, which is vital for addressing social inequalities on a larger scale.

LO7 – Recognize and consider the ethics of choices and action– Anand Utsav reminded me of the ethical responsibility we have toward the people who assist us daily. Often, the contributions of the support staff go unrecognized, but this event allowed us to express gratitude and make them feel appreciated. Seeing their smiles and joy during the festivities was deeply fulfilling and reinforced the importance of our choices and actions. Moving forward, I’ve resolved to consistently acknowledge their efforts and treat them with the respect they deserve, both within and beyond the school environment.

Anand Utsav was truly a celebration of unity, gratitude, and joy. The experience not only allowed me to grow personally but also left a lasting impact on my perspective toward appreciation and inclusivity. It’s a memory I’ll cherish and a lesson I’ll carry with me throughout my life.
