global odessy

One of the most significant occasions in FS is the Global Odyssey. The BM students in IBDP are in charge of organizing this event. Food, entertainment, and enjoyment abound in Global Odyssey. I worked on the décor team for this event, which was in charge of choosing the theme, making the decorations, and finally decorating the space.

LO2- Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process.

I had to devote a lot of time to creating the decorations as a member of the decor team, and at first I had a hard time juggling my schoolwork and another event—the grade 12 farewell. By studying at home and arriving early to school for goodbye dance practice, I improved my time management abilities.

LO3 – Initiate and plan a CAS experience
Making crafts has always been a passion of mine and one of my strong points. I decided to join the decor team when the global odyssey was announced and we were asked to select our teams. We began working on the decorations after receiving a briefing regarding the event’s subject and the appropriate aesthetic. We had a lot of decorations to finish and very little time, so we worked on them during our BM slots. We arrived early on the day of the event to adhere all of the decorations to the site when they were finished. When everything was finished, the event began, and it looked fantastic. as we imagined it would.

LO4- Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences

Because the dates of the global Odyssey and the grade 12 farewell event coincided, I had to oversee both events at the same time. I was able to give very little time to Global Odyssey because I had my dance practice for farewell because of this I started coming in early so that I could utilize that time for the farewell and use the remaining time to help the decor team in Global Odyssey.

LO5- Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively.
Because we only had a short amount of time to finish all the decorations before beginning to adhere them to the site, decorations call for cooperation and teamwork. We had to effectively cooperate as our BM slots were split up into two batches so that each batch could finish the assignment. We split up the job, and each member of the tiny team was given a task to complete for the decoration. We were able to finish all of the decorations on schedule and give this event life by splitting up the job and working together.
