Farewell dance ‘25

LO1 (IDENTIFY OWN STRENGTHS AND DEVELOP AREAS FOR GROWTH)

LO2 ( DEMONSTRATE THAT CHALLENGES HAVE BEEN UNDERTAKEN, DEVELOPING NEW SKILLS IN THE PROCESS)

I have not really got the strongest part of dancing. So much so that even before this experience, I had never considered entertaining an audience. At the time I registered myself to take part in the Farewell Dance ’25, I felt completely out of place. However, I decided to treat this as a challenge to pursue something unfamiliar and grow in the process. Learning choreography up front wasn’t that easy but, given time and practice, I managed to get better at it slowly. Developing these skills made me see that I can, indeed, get up on my feet and learn things that I doubted were ever possible.

LO4 (SHOW PERSEVERANCE AND COMMITMENT IN CAS EXPERIENCE)
There were times when I thought giving up altogether was the best way to escape, but those thoughts evaporated in long, exhausting rehearsals, where I felt offbeat and doubted my ability to keep up with the group. However, I had made a commitment, and I was determined to see it through. Every single rehearsal was attended; it refined my steps and confidence. Even when it was difficult, there was a voice within telling me why I started: to push limits and prove to myself that I could do it. It was worth it, and at the end of the day, I became proud of myself for remaining steadfast to my goal.

LO5 ( DEMONSTRATE THE SKILLS AND RECOGNIZE THE BENEFITS OF WORKING COLLABORATIVELY )
An invaluable lesson I have learned is that teamwork matters. Dancing is more than an individual’s skill-it’s about moving as one. I learned to trust my teammates, to synchronize with them and lend a hand when someone was having a hard time. It was definitely more fun to learn together and helped us bond as a group. We’d encourage one another, share some insider tips, and celebrate every little win. This experience proved to me that collaborating makes it much easier to overcome obstacles and that a victory is much sweeter when shared.
