LO1 – Identifying Strengths and Areas for Growth
I was able to identify my interpersonal skills on the trip, particularly when interacting with the peasants. I discovered that my ability to communicate effectively allowed me to establish rapport and comprehend their difficulties. But I also saw places where I might do better, including learning more about issues facing rural communities like healthcare inequities and sustainable farming methods.

LO2 – Undertaking Challenges and Developing New Skills
Although it was difficult, being at the campsite and adjusting to its basic conditions taught me how to be resilient. I was forced to step outside of my comfort zone when I took part in farming and milking cows, and these practical experiences gave me a greater appreciation for the labor-intensive work that supports rural livelihoods.

LO3 – Initiating and Planning a CAS Experience
The vacation has to be carefully organized and planned. My peers and I worked together to prepare for events including talking to locals and touring important locations like the hospital. By taking the initiative to organize our conversations and assignments, we were able to maximize our time and establish deep connections with the community.

LO4 – Showing Perseverance and Commitment
Adjusting to the demands of the journey, from farming to comprehending the villagers’ daily hardships, required continual work and perseverance. I remained dedicated to giving every task my all, making sure I made a significant contribution to the group’s objectives and the experience as a whole.

LO5 – Demonstrating Collaboration
Cooperation was essential on the journey. Teamwork was essential to the success of our endeavors, whether it was organizing interviews with locals or cooperating during farming chores. This event made clear how important it is to value different viewpoints and the advantages of teamwork in accomplishing shared objectives.

LO6 – Engaging with Global Issues
By engaging with the villagers, we examined global issues such as poverty, access to food, and disparities in healthcare. A trip to the regional hospital highlighted the importance of sustainable approaches to address these issues, enhancing my comprehension of their global relevance.

The trip reinforced the importance of ethical decision-making. From respecting cultural sensitivities during conversations to considering the environmental impact of farming practices, I became more aware of how our actions affect others and the importance of making thoughtful, responsible choices.
