Anand Utsav was an event that we students had planned for the school staff members(didi’s and bhaiya’s). In the event we organized exciting team games like tug-of-war and musical chairs, and even put on a special dance performance and a drama act for them. Towards the end of the event, we all also played garba with didis. Didis and Bhaiya’s really work hard for us everyday therefore, we also wanted to treat them with something delicious, so we students made bhel together. Chopping vegetables and peeling pomegranate really gave us a new perspective on the effort that goes into preparing food and how hard didis and bhaiyas work for us. In addition to this, we decorated three different venues for the games, performances, and food. This whole experience, especially making the food, was a real eye-opener – it helped us understand and appreciate all the hard work and efforts that goes into everything around us.

LO4 – Show perseverance and commitment in CAS experience
I had shown a consistent commitment and perseverance for Anand Utsav and I was punctual in all the meetings and on the event day as well. On the event day I completed my task well of making didi and bhaiyas play game and also helped my peers with their tasks of decoration, making food, developing a memory video for didi’s and bhaiya’s etc. Even though sometimes we faced difficulties of resources and time we were still committed throughout the event.

LO5 – Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively
I had demonstrated communication skills, social skills and thinking skills throughout this event. I presented communication skills while talking to my peers when we were making the staff members play games. I also used my communication skills while taking to didi’s and bhaiya’s. Because I am fluent with Gujarati, I used to give most of the instructions on how the games part of the event will go and how to play all the games. In addition, I used the communication skills while making the food as well. Moreover, I demonstrated social skills while I was communicating with the didis and bhaiya’s. I also developed social skills when I was proposing decor related ideas for the event to my team members. Lastly, I developed thinking skills while brainstorming for the ideas. All these skills helped me perform the tasks more efficiently and the collaborative tasks benefited in brainstorming ideas and completing the tasks and activities on time on the event day.
