Global odyssey is one of the biggest events in FS. This event is organized by the students of BM in IBDP. Global Odyssey is packed with fun, food, and entertainment. For this event, I was a part of the decor team in which we were responsible for selecting the theme, preparing the decorations, and then decorating the venue. 

LO2- Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process.

Being a part of the decor team, I had to give a lot of time in making the decorations and initially I faced many challenges in managing the time with my studies and another event, grade 12 farewell. I developed my time management skills by studying at home and coming early to school for farewell dance practice. 

LO3 – Initiate and plan a CAS experience

Art and crafts has been one of my strengths and something I have loved to do. When the global odyssey was introduced and we were asked to choose our teams, I chose to be the part of the decor team. We were briefed about the theme of the event and how the decorations should look according to which we started working on the decorations. We worked on the decorations during our BM slots because we had very less time and a lot of decorations to complete. Once the decorations was completed, we came early on the day of the event to stick all of the decorations on the venue. After all of this was completed, the event finally started and it looked just as good as we imagined it would.

LO4- Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences

I was part of the grade 12 farewell event which had similar dates as the global odyssey because of which I had to manage both of the events simultaneously. I was able to give very less time to global odyssey because I had my dance practice for farewell because of which I started coming in early so that I can utilize that time for the farewell and use the remaining time to help the decor team in global odyssey.

LO5- Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively.

Decorations require teamwork and collaboration because we had limited time to complete all of the decorations and then start sticking it onto the venue. Our BM slots were divided in 2 batches so we had to coordinate properly so that both batches were able to complete the task properly. We divided our work and each person was assigned a task for the decoration along with a small team. Dividing work and collaborating together helped us complete all of the decorations on time and bring life to this event.
