Rural immersion trip

School trips were usually museum marathons or amusement park adventures. But this year, we embarked on something entirely different: a rural immersion trip to Lachhakadi, we volunteered at a local farm. where we not only worked but also gained knowledge about sapling of mango trees and turmeric as well.

The first challenge? Waking up early to go to farms and go to bamboo furniture farm. It may sound funny, but the early mornings and unfamiliar tasks pushed me way outside my comfort zone. But with each sunrise, a new skill bloomed. I learned to plant seeds, identify incidents and how to identify which type of incest they are for example when were walking to the village school we found a spider and they were identified due to their special legs and such.. but by the sunset everything seemed worth it every single day.

Beyond the practical, this trip opened my eyes to global issues. Witnessing the farm’s struggle with water conservation highlighted the very real challenges of sustainable agriculture. We interacted with families who were helped by the government under specific circumstances to have more and better opportunities, sparking discussions about rural development.

It was not just limited boring learning about farms but also we have many fun activities such as grappling, rock climbing and my most favorite activity to do in wilderness trekking, all them pushed me physically and showed me my weaknesses, but listening to songs with my friends while trekking on the mountian was my favorite memory of all the trip.

This rural immersion wasn’t just about farm chores. It was about stepping outside my bubble, embracing new skills, and understanding the intricate connections between rural life and global challenges. It was a messy, rewarding adventure that I’ll never forget.

LO2 – Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills

Throughout the trip I had to do activities that were knew to me and the lifestyle over there was also something that was my normal routine, so just being there was me being outside my comfort zone and as we were also through new things related to farming that I got to know helping me in developing new skills such as farming turmeric and physical work that also challenged me

LO6 – Engagement with issues of global significance.

not only just physical work but also we were also helping the near students in the village which were deprived of quality education, we went there multiple times throughout the trip to not only them but also help the premise of the school. not only that we also helped the people in the village wherein when we had to go CIBART and help them.
