Unlike most of the CAS experiences Rural immersion trip seemed one of the least interesting to me.But gradually during the trip my mind was changed.This trip no longer came as an tedious task to be done with but instead turned out to be a very fun-based learning experience.

To begin with,this trip turned out to be completely different than what I expected which led to a significant change in my opinion.(LOI 7) I expected the tribal community to be uncivilised however,when we visited there houses it changed my mind.I observed that they managed their resources effectively,took calculated risks and their households worked in a very modernised systems.For example,them storing rice for the upcoming seasons,or using naturally cool mud to build their homes were unique and sustainable.

Also, this made me certain of the opinion that global issues such as loss of cultural diversity,poverty,or lack of quality education are still prominent and relevant in today’s time.I remember when we visited the government school I had tears in my eyes.There were a lot of orphaned children even under the age of 3 who were living under absolute poverty with not even proper clothes to wear.Moreover the children at the school had no proper resources to effectively study.This made me realise the privileges I inherit and how I should not take things for granted and be a little more grateful for the life I am lucky to have.

Lastly,I say this trip was an emotional roller coaster because working collaboratively was a big part of it.(LOI 5)This trip included a lot of group activities such as warli painting or playing a lot of team based sports.So this made me realise the importance of teamwork.It was really fun to interact and play with the underprivileged children and include them in conversations and games with my friends.

All in all,this trip was extremely insightful and amusing since it involved a lot of activities.It made me try things out of my comfort zone and living far from my ordinary city life sounded very overwhelming at first but it gradually changed my perspective towards life.
