In May, we held an event in our school to showcase French culture. All French students passionately gathered and teamed up to host this event. We set up different stalls ranging from french pronunciations, new words, about its history, etc. We transformed our assembly into a francophonic scenery and music with French songs which flooded the atmosphere. This was a chance for students coming from diverse backgrounds to explore French culture and understand more about new culture. With the help of teamwork, creativity and passion we set our hearts into making this event a success.

LO 1- identify one’s strengths and develop area for growth

When deciding the roles for French activities, I decided to take the topic most difficult for me so that I could improve my French vocabulary. So before I presented my stall, I had to be knowledgeable about the topic as a whole so I could explain the same to the audience. Additionally, while we were making decor for the event, I used my creativity skills to do it and made eye catching decor from paper and other materials. 

LO 3- demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience 

We were initially late to plan and execute the event due to preparation for french oral exams. which is why we had to work quickly from making guest lists, calling the photography team, inviting the guests, taking permission, setting the venue, etc. One thing at a time we were able to finish it on time. We learned how to efficiently make use of the time left and communicate to others for the event. not only that, but how much work goes into making the event a success. 

LO5- Demonstrate the skills and recognise the benefits of working collaboratively

At first, not many people were interested in hosting the event, but eventually,we gathered everyone to help and contribute to their part.  From coming to early-ins and working in free slots, we dedicated into planning, management and decor. Some people were having difficulty in decor so we all helped each other depending on skills and worked together. Additionally, one classmate wasnt able to make it to the event day, so we decided to divide his role and work towards it.  Once done with everything, we tookinto account one another’s strenghts to help setup the decor at the venue. 

To conclude, 

the event was beautiful. We all bonded together and it was one of the best weeks spent together. Learning new french vocabulary, facts and pronounciation and about pne another as a person brought us closer and made the event a success.
