This was one of the most fruitful CAS experience, which taught me a lot things. This experience even made me reflect on my action which could potentially have negative impact on the society and surrounding. The primary aim of the CAS experience was to preserve and protect the local environment by removing litter, plastic from public places such as beach,rivers. The community clean up drive helped to understand the importance of a clean environment due to its negative implications on the environment and human health.Adding on, through this experience I was able to connect few of the SDGs which helped me in my further reflections.

L5.Demonstrate skills and benefits of working collaboratively
Teamwork was the important key factor of this experience. This is because through team work and each other’s support we were able to clean such big areas in lesser amount of time while also getting our work done as quick as possible. it even motivated us by looking at the area which was cleaned. So without teamwork and support this would have become very time consuming and tiring activity for each one of us.

L4. Show perseverance and commitment in CAS experience
In this experience it was really essential for me to show perseverance and be commitment towards the experience because going to such dirty and unhygienic places was not easy. The place use to be filled with odor from the waste. Due to these reasons I had to motivate myself to not miss any of the session and keep doing the good work which created a positive implications on the society.

L6. Engagement with issues of global significance
Though clean up only focused on the local scale, the issue has reached the global level as well as I was able to engage with issues of global significance.During this CAS experience we catered to SDG goal “6”, “11”, “12”, “13”, “15” by understanding the importance of the issue land pollution, human alteration, and climate change. These factors have the potential to risk the delicate coastal ecology as well as the marine world, which is home to a wide variety of marine animals. We should make the beach area our home and learn how to enjoy it without harming it since we are only the one who damages the home for the wildlife and marine life.

L7. Recognize and consider the ethics of choices and actions
This CAS experience made me introspect into the ethics of my choices and actions because of the negative impacts it creates on the environment around me. I was able to understand the impacts of human actions on the environment and on other innocent living beings. For us these actions are quite small and vague but when they add up altogether then it has the most harmful side effects.

To conclude with, Community clean up was a really fruitful experience through which I was able to introspect into my ethics of actions and choices which can possibly create negative implications on the world around me. Through this CAS experience I was even able to display the learner profile “Reflective” by reflecting on my actions and the choices I make.
