Bal Mela, a delightful event where the laughter of children fills the air and creativity knows no bounds, serves as a platform for students from various backgrounds to come together and celebrate the joy of learning. As I eagerly anticipate my role as an arts and crafts committee volunteer at this year’s Bal Mela, I am driven by a desire to contribute to the happiness of these young minds. In this blog, I will delve into how this experience aligns with the learning outcomes of challenging oneself, fostering collaboration, and engaging with global issues, while also reflecting on the significance of my choice to serve the community.

LO2 – Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills.

Volunteering for the arts and crafts committee presents a myriad of challenges, from managing time efficiently to mastering intricate painting techniques. As I immerse myself in the task of painting tattoos on the faces and hands of the children using acrylic colors, I am confronted with the need to adapt quickly and think creatively. Through these challenges, I am developing new skills, honing my artistic abilities, and expanding my capacity to overcome obstacles—a testament to the transformative power of stepping out of one’s comfort zone.

 LO5 – Demonstrate skills and benefits of working collaboratively.

The essence of Bal Mela lies in its collaborative spirit, where students from different schools come together to organize a day filled with joy and excitement. As a part of the arts and crafts committee, I am working closely with my peers, pooling our talents and resources to create an unforgettable experience for the children.
