LO1 – Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth

As we embarked on planning the Math Trivia Finals, we first took stock of our individual strengths and weaknesses to assign roles effectively. Each member brought something unique to the table, from creative thinking to attention to detail. My friend and I, recognizing our comfort with public speaking, volunteered to take on the role of hosts for the event. We knew we could engage the audience and keep the energy high throughout the competition. Others showcased strengths in organization, research, and problem-solving, which were crucial in finalizing the structure of the event and creating challenging yet engaging questions. However, we also acknowledged our weaknesses, such as time management and technical skills, and worked together to support each other in these areas.

The process of planning the Math Trivia Finals was an extensive one that involved several stages. We began by brainstorming ideas for rounds and structuring the event to ensure maximum participation and excitement. This phase required careful consideration of the interests and preferences of our classmates. Once the rounds were finalized, we worked tirelessly to create thought-provoking and diverse questions that would test our peers’ mathematical knowledge. As the event drew closer, we focused on the logistics of hosting, managing resources for the contestants, and resolving technical issues and managing time constraints to ensure a successful turnout. On the day of the finals, we seamlessly executed our plan, managing time constraints and technical challenges with poise and adaptability.
