As part of meeting the creativity criteria for CAS, I was part of organizing the G12 farewell. Its FS ritual for the 11th graders to organize a the Farewell session for the senior batch. My main inputs were in the hosting of the event, where I was the host managing the stage, and other activities along with the event schedule. Otherwise, I also helped the decor team with decor work.

LO1 – Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth

I can converse well in english, and I can add easily add elements of humor into my speeches. I’m also experienced with stage work since I was small. So managing the stagework wasn’t something that was a big challenge for me. However managing people along with stagework was going to be something that would be a task. Coordinating with different teams was something that was a challenge, while ensuring things don’t go wrong during the event was a little challenging.

LO2 – Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills

Time management was something that had to be done well. With recent IA submissions and summatives approaching parallel to the event was something that needed to be taken care of. Along with that preparing a script, and coordinating with multiple teams was a challenge. beyond the planning, the on day execution was something that proved to be a challenge. One skill that I specifically developed was coordination and team management. On the day of the event, working with multiple people, last minute preparation and executions was something I wasn’t used to. However as part of the OC of the farewell event, I got exposure to such situations and learnt how to execute them.

LO4 – Show perseverance and commitment in CAS experience

The preparation of the whole event began a month before the actual event, attending all meetings and scheduling school slots and timings according to this event was a challenge. Ensuring that work is done, and all communication is done to such a large team required commitment and perseverance to this. Event beyond the school ours, activity scheduling, script preparation needed to be done so that the event is a success, and that there were minimal last minute changes. With coordination and commitment from the whole team, this event was possible.

LO5 – Demonstrate skills and benefits of working collaboratively

By now, since I had already done a lot of CAS experiences, working in a team was something I had gotten used to. For this event, considering that this is such a big one, a huge team was involved in the making. Working together was a bliss, as all roles were divided and we could complete more work in less time. Working in a team also meant that there were more ideas on the board, and thus more room for creativity for the event. Working collaboratively not only helped us prepare for the event in such a short time, but it also allowed us to make the whole event more lively and complete it without stress. Personally listening to other people’s ideas, led my work to be more creative and inclusive of all the perspectives, this helped me deliver a better closing speech on the stage.

In conclusion, through this CAS experience it helped me develop my creativity skills along with many other essential skills.
