HDP PS – FOOTBALL

Throughout the year, I immersed myself in the HDP Personal Sports program at school, dedicating my efforts to the sport of football. As a defender, my focus was on honing passing skills, enhancing agility, speed, endurance, and resilience. Within this program, the emphasis was not solely on individual skill development but also on fostering a sense of teamwork and collective accomplishment.

Amidst the chaos of school life, where homework and exams often dominate, the football field became my sanctuary. It was here that I found solace and a space to grow both personally and athletically. My journey in football experienced a significant leap forward this year, largely due to the enriching experience provided by HDP PS. Let us delve into how this immersive football experience has contributed to my growth and learning across various dimensions.

LO 1 – Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth
Becoming a great defender in football is like a journey for me. I’m always working hard to be better. I use my strengths and try to fix my weaknesses. Every practice and game is a chance for me to get better. I use my natural talents to improve my defensive skills. I practice a lot and always try to do my best. Every game is an opportunity for me to show how much I’ve improved. It’s not just about winning; it’s about getting better and overcoming challenges. Each game helps me grow and become a better player.

LO2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills

As I try out being a striker, I face new challenges that I need to overcome. Even though I’m naturally fast, there’s still a lot I need to work on, especially my shooting skills. It’s a bit different from when I played as a defender before. Now, instead of stopping goals, I need to score them! It’s something new for me, and I know I have to practice a lot to get better at it. Scoring goals isn’t easy, but I’m determined to improve. I need to learn how to kick the ball just right to make it go into the goal. It’s going to take time and effort, but I’m up for the challenge. I’ll keep practicing and refining my skills until I become really good at scoring goals as a striker.

LO5: Demonstrate skills and benefits of working collaboratively Using Our Collective Strength

Being part of HDP PS helped us work together and support each other. We did exercises and played matches as a team, which showed me how important teamwork is. Growing Together: Playing with others gave me chances to learn. We shared tips and helped each other get better. This made us all improve while being supportive of one another. Looking back on my time with HDP PS, I’m really thankful for how much it helped me in football. It taught me important things like not giving up, working together, and learning about myself. HDP PS didn’t just make me love football more, it also helped me become a better person and player. It’s something I’ll always remember and cherish.
