Students in grades 11 studying business management and economics organized the fair called Global Odyssey in our school. The event was on February 14th, and our theme for the same was “Cherry Blossom.â€The event was full of games that would make everyone smile, wonderful food, and an incredible array of jewelry and tote bags that fully lived up to its tagline, “Fun, Food & Fashion.” I, along with my teammates, put up a food stall consisting of donuts, iced tea and aloo puri. Additionally, I was also a part of the organizing committee of this event wherein I helped with the decoration and aesthetics aspect of the event.
LO3: Initiate and plan a CAS experience
During the event, we had to plan everything, whether it be for the stall or the decor. I took up the initiative of aloo puri and donuts and made and brought them to the event. Alongside, my teammates took care of other food items as well as the marketing aspect of it.
LO2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills
We encountered a few challenges on the day of the event that called for problem-solving. Early on, we underestimated the amount of demand for the aloo puro, so we had to work quickly to make more new batches. On the other hand, quite a lot of donuts were wasted since the demand for that was not so high.
LO5: Demonstrate skills and benefits of working collaboratively
Throughout the event, it was essential for all of us to work as a team and collaborate and divide up the roles for everything. As mentioned above, I took charge of aloo puri and my teammates took up other stuff. Talking effectively was a huge part of the event as it is extremely crucial to plan things and work collaboratively while listening to what everyone has to say.
