Have you ever thought about how economic theories are implemented in reality? This question was always on my mind as a student with a strong interest in business management and economics. Join Global Odyssey, an event led by students that offered the ideal solution.

Global Odyssey is a distinctive CAS opportunity that unites students studying economics and business management. We simulate a market where we act as both entrepreneurs and consumers, navigating the complexities of supply and demand. This hands-on experience takes us beyond traditional textbooks, giving us the opportunity to see economic principles in action.

Being the team leader involved more than just handling things. It was an intensive leadership course. Working together with my colleagues, we strategized all elements of the event, including budgeting for decorations. We encountered obstacles, found compromises, and understood the great importance of working together as a team. Seeing how different viewpoints can result in creative answers was an important learning experience.

However, the most important lessons were gained through addressing global issues. Global Odyssey frequently integrates real-life obstacles such as sustainability and fair trade issues. By including these concepts, we enhance our comprehension of economic principles and gain a more profound insight into the interconnected nature of our economies in the globalized world.

This encounter perfectly aligned with my aspirations for a business profession. It not only strengthened my passion for economics and management, but also improved my abilities as a leader. The cooperative setting encouraged the development of crucial skills like critical thinking and problem-solving, which are necessary for future business leaders.

LO3 – Initiate and plan a CAS experience

I was the team leader of the food department so, I had to start early for that me and the other leaders started communicating with the teachers and after the finalization of the teams, we had to start from 22th of January , so from the 22nd till 14th of February we had to plan all the things, be in communication with all the people.

LO5 – Demonstrate skills and benefits of working collaboratively

As said earlier I had to be in communication with all the people, I had 5 groups who had to be communicated with for all the time, and all of the groups had around 4-5 people in their teams. so in order to make sure that all the people were clear, and the event went on smoothly I had to stay constant in communication.
