I went for a cleanup during the time span of 16th jan 2024 to 13th Feb 2024. There, I had opportunity to clean up weed infested lake and clear out the shore from garbage. Working together, we focused on removing litter and pollutants, contributing to a cleaner and healthier local ecosystem.

LO4 Show perseverance and commitment in CAS experience:

Participating in the cleanups for 4 week demonstrates strong commitment. Moreover, for all the sessions at the lake I was one of the few willing to go into the water to interact with plants. Despite cold water, physical exertion and basic human disgust, I have put out all my strength throught duration of the whole experience

LO5 Demonstrate skills and benefits of working collaboratively:

We worked in a big group of around 20 people and each had it’s own task. During lake sessions one people gathered weed in the lake while people on the ground pulled it up to the shore. During the sessions in the city everyone would have taken different area for clearing up. Therefore if not teamwork we wouldn’t be able to complete the tasks so efficiently.

LO6 Engagement with issues of global significance:

During cleanup at the city beaches wee have encountered global issue of the the waste management and pollution. It felt fulfilling clearing them from horrifying amounts of plastic

LO7 Recognize and consider the ethics of choices and actions:

While observing the waste at the beaches, it made me recognize importance of the responsible management of trash. Moreover the sessions at the lake made me realize that nature is not always perfect and sometimes humans have to interfere to stop one species destroying the whole ecosystem
