Pi Day – Creativity

Duration: 22nd February to 14th March

For Pi day 2024, I decided to be a part of decor team which gave me an opportunity to showcase my creativity. Designing decorations for Pi Day allowed me to explore my creative skills in dept and to showcase it in this event. Creating decorations involved overcoming challenges, whether it’s finding the right materials or figuring out how to display our creations.

LO1 – Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth.

I was a part of decor team but wasn’t really confident about working collaboratively with my own batchmates. Being an impatient student, this event helped me in overcoming this challenge which really helped me out throughout this event from the beginning till the last day. Few experiences and instances gave me an opportunity to practice more and improve my communication skills which helped during this event preparation.

LO4 – Show perseverance and commitment in CAS experience.

The preparation for the decor was a task to solve because it involved opinions of all the members and was difficult to come to a conclusion and to decide what our final decor plan would look like. At that time we realized that patience is the key. To put in efforts to make this event fruitful, decor team worked hard upon it even attending early-ins to work effectively so that we can meet the deadline and complete all the task assigned on time without any chaos. The design and decoration process involved trial and error. We needed to revise our ideas based on feedback or practical constraints. Committing to refining our designs demonstrated our willingness to push through difficulties until we achieve a satisfactory result. Balancing my responsibilities in the decor team with other academic commitments showed the ability to prioritize and manage my time effectively. Also being a part of a decor team means attending meetings, participating in brainstorming sessions, and collaborating on tasks. My consistent presence and active participation highlights my commitment to the group and this event.

LO5 – Demonstrate skills and benefits of working collaboratively.

Working as a team required a lot of clear communication. We practiced articulating our ideas, actively listening to others, and providing constructive feedback. This helped us in ensuring that everyone is on the same page and contributes to a more cohesive final product. Collaboration always involves dividing the tasks, for this event we also mutually agreed and divided the task to work efficiently. Working as a team gave me very different viewpoints and creative approaches. This diversity sparked innovative ideas and lead to a richer final outcome in our decor pieces. Working collaboratively, taught me many different things and enhanced my overall experience.
