HDP PS

Throughout the all diploma programme that is 11 and 12 standard, I dedicated myself to the play school football team as the goalkeeper. Having always enjoyed playing as a goalkeeper is also full of pressure and problem-solving aspect of this unique position, guarding the football by conceding is the main feature of this position and not letting the other team win and I like to do goalkeeping. So it proved the perfect CAS activity for me to develop both physically and personally.

LO 1: Identity own strengths and develop areas for growth:

Coming into my role, I identified that one of my biggest strengths is shot-stopping I was able to save almost every long-distance shot that would come at me. However, I also get to know that my reflexes were also up to the point I was able to quickly react to the shorts that come from nowhere and I was able to save all the shorts. So I would say though the PS I was able to develop technique for proper keeper and somewhat improved my reflexes.

LO 2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, and developing new skills:

One of the challenge that I have faced is that when the ball is at my feats I get nervous by which chances of the opposition team to score the goal increases by which chances of losing increases so this is one of the skill that I need to improve and be more calm when I have the ball at the feats. So by constantly practice this in PS I was somewhat more confident with the ball and I was able to keep my calm in pressure situation.

LO 4: Show perseverance and commitment in CAS experience:

By consistently reaching on time for the PS, and by not skipping any class. And putting in a lot of affords in training, physical training I show consistency in learning football. And I also did not skipped any team meaning/discussion demonstrating my perseverance over the long-term. As a keeper, I knew my consistent presence was vital for building a good understanding with my team especially with the defenders. There were many tiring days, but my dedication paid off as we improved as a defensive unit.

LO 5: Demonstrate skills and benefits of working collaboratively:

As we know that football is a team game and working collaboratively is a key to win in a team game. And by working collaboratively we will win the football game for example, I am the keeper of the team and my job is the aware of the playing in my team by effectively communicating which shows collaboration of keeper and the other outfield players which will lead to the goal by which we can win the football match.
