I had the incredible opportunity teach ICT to Underprivileged children as part of my CAS project. The goal was to teach the kids how to use a Chromebook, a skill that is becoming increasingly essential in today’s digital world. I was initially nervous about my ability to explain complex technological concepts to young minds, but I quickly realized the joy and satisfaction that came from empowering these children.

The first day was a bit challenging as I tried to navigate the best way to introduce the Chromebook to the children. I started with the basics, explaining the different parts of the device and how to turn it on and off. Gradually, I introduced more advanced concepts, such as using the internet, creating documents, and playing educational games. The children were incredibly eager to learn and asked countless questions, which kept me on my toes.

One of the most rewarding moments was when I saw the children’s faces light up as they successfully completed a task for the first time. Their excitement was contagious, and it motivated me to continue providing them with the support they needed. I also realized the importance of making learning fun and engaging, so I incorporated interactive activities and games into our sessions.

At the end, I noticed a significant improvement in the children’s computer skills. They were able to navigate the Chromebook independently and even started helping each other. It was heartwarming to see them develop a sense of confidence and empowerment.

I believe that this CAS experience has been incredibly valuable for both the children and myself. It has taught me the importance of giving back to my community and the positive impact that technology can have on people’s lives. I have also developed new skills, such as patience, adaptability, and effective communication.
