The week-long immersion program in the rural village of Mokhamal was a transformative experience that has left an indelible mark on me. I viewed the local culture, learned traditional skills, and gained a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by rural communities.

One of the highlights of the program was the opportunity to learn traditional craft making. I spent several hours working with skilled artisan to create a bamboo basket. The process was intricate and required patience, but it was incredibly rewarding to see my creation come to life. Learning this traditional skill not only allowed me to connect with the local culture but also provided me with a newfound appreciation for the craftsmanship and dedication of the artisans.

In addition to craft making, I also had the chance to learn welding. Working with steel rods and a welding torch was a new and exciting experience. While it was challenging at times, I was able to develop new skills and gain a better understanding of the industrial processes involved in metalworking.

Beyond the practical skills I acquired, this immersion program has also helped me to develop important personal qualities. I have become more patient, adaptable, and open-minded. Living there has taught me to appreciate the simple things in life and to be grateful for the opportunities I have.

This experience has also allowed me to engage with issues of global significance. Rural communities often face challenges such as poverty, lack of access to education and healthcare, and environmental degradation. By immersing myself in this community, I have gained a deeper understanding of these challenges and the importance of sustainable development.
