Every year, Fountainhead School hosts an event called “Bal Mela,” designed to provide children from impoverished backgrounds with fun-filled experiences. This event features a variety of imaginative activities for kids from government schools, such as face painting, three-legged races, dog and the bone, and much more. We were given the opportunity to engage with these children and make a positive impact on society. Among the many activities, I chose to be part of the bracelet-making stall. Our goal was to create and provide beautiful bracelets according to the kids’ preferences within a short period, ensuring they left with a memorable and joyful experience.

LO5-demonstrate skills and benefits of working collaboratively:

working collaboratively at the bal mela event allowed me to develop and demonstrate key skills while reaping the benefits of teamwork. effective communication was crucial for coordinating activities and ensuring that everyone was aligned with our goals. by leveraging each team members strengths, we maximized our collective abilities and created a more enjoyable experience for the children.leadership naturally emerged as different members took charge of various tasks,maintaining efficiency and morale. together we sorted the challenges through creative problem solving ensuring the smooth running of our bracelet making stall. this collaborative effort enhanced our creativity. increased efficiency and provided a supportive environment where we could rely on each other. additionally the experience offered valuable opportunities for learning and personal growth,highlighting the significant advantages of working as a cohesive team.

LO2-Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken,developing new skills:

participating in the bal mela event involved tackling several challenges that helped me develop new skills. managing the large number of children at the bracelet making activity needed quick adaptation and improved organizational skills.we created an efficient system to ensure every child had a turn enhancing our crowd management abilities. running out of materials midway through the event pushed us to be resourceful and innovative teaching the kids to make bracelets with alternative methods, which honed our problem-solving skills. additionally engaging with the children from diverse backgrounds improved our cultural sensitivity and communication techniques.these experiences not only tested our adaptability but also helped us develop skills in crowd management , creative problem solving and effective communication making us more confident and capable in handling dynamic situations.
