For my CAS experience I participated in the Bal Mela organized by my school where underprivileged children from various government schools around surat were invited to our school and different activities were set up for them to engage in and enjoy the day. I was helping in the volleyball activity planned for the children were I and my buddy told the students about what the game is and how is this game played also we engaged with them to teach them the game and play with them so that they can get the grip of this game.
LO3 – Initiate and plan a CAS experience
Planning was necessary for the execution of the bal mela, including location selection, games for the kids, and many other details. In order to ensure the success of the event, we also had to determine how we would assign the kids to do the activity and how we would oversee it. This required adequate preparation in advance.
LO5 – Demonstrate Skills and benefits of Working Collaboratively
We had to work in pairs in order to effectively handle the children, but it also helped that each of us had a unique set of skills that allowed us to divide responsibilities and collaborate more effectively. We completed the objective and improved the students’ learning of new skills thanks to teamwork.
LO6 – Engagement of Issues with Global Significance
Children from disadvantaged backgrounds frequently lack access to high-quality education, which prevents them from learning 21st-century abilities like creativity, information technology, social skills, and physical skills—all of which are crucial for everyone’s future. The Bal Mela event gives impoverished children the chance to learn these new talents, and in my volunteer work in sports, I was able to teach individuals new social and physical abilities related to teamwork and coordination.
